A beer advertisement made for Budweiser beer does not hold back and makes Americans who voted Trump in the recent elections very angry.
America is a “nation of immigrants”, as President J.F. Kennedy once said. However today, under the governance of Republican Donald Trump U.S.A. built a wall both inside and outside of the country stopping migrants from entering the U.S.A with one single criterion: their religion. The biggest problems are faced by citizens coming from Arabic countries and Muslims, even if they have been living in the U.S.A. for many years until now and never had legal problems.
However, an advertisement played at the recent Super Bowl, the greatest sport event of the year, came to declare what is self explained and is also supported by Immigrants’ Support Organization, OYM: That no matter what country we come from we all have the right to make our dreams come true.
The Budweiser beer advertisement is titled “Born the Hard Way” and lasts 60 seconds. During this minute, the arrival of a German in 1957 in the U.S.A is shown. ‘We don’t want you here, go back to your country”, Americans tell him as soon as he sets foot in the U.S.A. It is the story of Adolphus Busch, the co-founder of the well known beer Budweiser who, together with Eberhard Anheuser and after many troubles and sacrifices they made their American dream come true.
It is very important that this advertisement was shown because many millions of people watched it and an everyday problem of many people, including us, was highlighted. We hope that some of the people who watched it changed their mind….
