An open hug and a welcoming smile are the first things that you will feel when you decide to pass by. IMMIGRANTS PLACE is now open for 20 straight years and is located at Tsamadou street, no 13, Exarcheia region in Athens. It is a well known meeting place for immigrants and Greeks.
IMMIGRANTS PLACE is a friendly place, open to everyone. It opens early in the morning and it stays open up until late at night. Every afternoon volunteers of the team “Back Desks” give free Greek lessons. Lessons take place from 18:00 to 20:00 pm but the best to do to get more information is contact with them at 210 3813928.
The team UFU (Underground Free University), also gives free computer lessons. Every teaching period lasts for about 2 months and covers both basic computer knowledge and some more advanced programs.
Apart from these lessons at IMMIGRANTS PLACE you can also recycle your computer or replace some of its parts with others that another person does not need.
IMMIGRANTS PLACE is also a place suitable for political-social discussions, drinking coffee, browsing the internet, etc. Every night, including weekends, this is the place where people from many different countries, men and women meet and communicate.
If you happen to be around, every Saturday evening there is the “ElChef” event. Everybody helps at cooking, usually with smile and jokes and in the end everybody enjoys a dish of warm delicious food with good company!
